Our pricing options on the table below are cost effective and represent the realistic time it takes to transcribe different recordings, based on many years in the transcription business. We are happy to provide a tailored quote based on your requirements and our current turnaround times, and believe that our pricing system is fair and transparent. Each service and recording format has its own price range - more details of which can be found on the individual service pages via the menu on the left. Urgent deadlines are built into our price range, so please ask if you need your transcription turned round to a tight deadline. Please email with any specific query.

The per audio minute rates apply only to good quality, clearly audible digital or minidisc recordings. The price range is designed to cover issues such as background noise, strong accents and technical terms. Should the subsequent recording prove to be inaudible, we will requote and discuss this with you before proceeding. Please see our Overview page for definitions of our transcript formats. Intelligent Verbatim is included in the prices above. Add 50p per audio minute (25p discounted) for a Complete Verbatim or 25p per audio minute (10p discounted) for Edited Transcript price - digital recordings only. Audio tape formats include standard audio tapes, mini tapes and micro cassettes.

Per audio minute prices
We provide this option for all minidisc, digital audio and digital video transcription for recordings which are clearly audible. This will enable clients to calculate the exact cost of their transcription project in advance or, in some cases, before they've even carried out the recordings. Clients about to bid for research funding have found this option particularly useful. We reserve the right to requote should the audio not be as clear as first briefed.

Discounted prices
We are happy to provide a discounted service for charities, students and universities because we recognise their budgetary constraints. This applies to all minidisc and digital recordings.

Per recording or per tape price
We do NOT provide a price option for a per tape or per digital recording because no two recordings are ever the same. Two separate recordings may be an hour in length but because of all the factors discussed on the Transcription Times page, they will take a completely different length of time to transcribe.

Clients have found this to be invaluable when coordinating a large scale interview project, an ongoing series of group meetings or focus groups or lengthy conferences. Our service also includes free proofreading and where possible, a free digital re-recording of your clear analogue recording.
