We are pleased to accept work from the UK or abroad, as long as the material is in English and our payment terms are agreed. Written quotations are provided for each project and a completed Booking Form is required before any project is undertaken. Please note - if the client's original requirements change, we reserve the right after suitable consultation to amend the original quotation.

IB Transcription Services and IB Editorial Services are part of IB Secretarial Services.  Payment by cheque is payable to Irene Boston Secretarial Services.

For companies - an invoice will be submitted with the completed work or on a monthly basis for long term projects. For large scale projects, invoices will be issued on a fortnightly basis. Payment is strictly due 14 days from the date of the invoice. 

For individuals and overseas clients - Payment of 25% of the total amount is due in advance as a deposit, with the balance payable on completion, and strictly 14 days from the date of the invoice. After the initial invoice, all further invoices will be submitted on a monthly basis for any ongoing work. Settlement terms remain 14 days from the date of the invoice.

Please note that we do not accept credit card payments but we do accept payment via PayPal if preferred. All invoices will be submitted in £ sterling and payment by BACS is preferred. Any currency conversion charges will be invoiced to the client. PayPal is also accepted from overseas clients but clients will be liable for Paypal charges, which will be added to the invoice.

We reserve the right to charge interest on any overdue invoice amounts at the rate of 3% per month on the outstanding balance from the date of the invoice until the date of payment. If a cheque is returned by the bank, the client will be responsible for all bank charges resulting from the returned cheque.

Final responsibility for proofreading errors for names, places, technical terminology and jargon rests with the client. Any errors by IB Transcription Services will be rectified free of charge if notified within 24 hours of receipt of completed work or within 14 days for work of more than 3000 words. Should any errors be found in the work, IBSS is liable for the cost of the work only - no further liability is acknowledged.

IBSS is not responsible for the end use of any document produced or edited by us. Clients are solely responsible for its appropriate use, including abiding by any copyright laws, plagiarism laws and publishing requirements. IBSS is not responsible for the content of any document supplied to them. Clients should not pass off plagiarised material as their own original work. IBSS will assume no responsibility for any plagiarised material supplied by a client and reserves the right to return the work should IBSS become aware of any such inappropriate use. IBSS retains the right to reject any client work involving material which IBSS finds to be illegal, immoral or objectionable.

Please note - in the current climate of prolific computer viruses, all incoming emails, files or disks will be scanned. However, even after scanning we will still not open unsolicited attachments to emails or emails which contains no message alongside the attachment. For insurance and safety reasons, we cannot permit personal visits to our premises. Back-up copies of client files are kept for a period of six months only. After that time, they will be deleted.  We advise all clients that original recordings (tapes / minidiscs) or documents should be sent via a traceable method of delivery, either by post office Registered Post or courier.
